About The Position

The Technician in the Analytical Laboratory at Western Digital is responsible for supporting manufacturing, process engineering, and research and development through routine analysis in wet chemistry. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory instruments and exceptional troubleshooting skills, with a focus on conducting chemical analyses and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in an Analytical Laboratory setting, preferably with expertise in wet-chemistry methodologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise analysis and adjustment of organic/inorganic compounds in plating baths using advanced instrumentation such as ICP-OES, HPLC, UV-VIS, Auto-Titrator, and CVS.
• Identify, evaluate, and ensure plating bath formulations adhere to specifications prior to production transfer.
• Monitor, review, and communicate to guarantee data compliance with Process Specifications.
• Report any deviations to the process owner and manager with comprehensive supporting documentation.
• Manage multiple requests and prioritize tasks for timely completion in a high-pressure environment.
• Execute essential laboratory support functions including instrument PM, standard preparation, and chemical inventory management.
• Adhere to EH&S regulations and maintain impeccable housekeeping practices in the laboratory.
