About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Technician 4 to join our System Design Verification (SDV) team. In this role, you will support validation and interoperability testing for next‑generation NVMe storage products across a wide range of platforms, OS environments, and hardware configurations. You will be responsible for hands‑on system setup, execution of validation plans, triage of issues, and maintaining test infrastructure critical to product qualification. This role is ideal for a technician with strong Linux/Windows experience, solid troubleshooting capability, and comfort working directly with hardware, system logs, and multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Linux CLI and Windows administrative tools.
  • Strong PC/server hardware fundamentals (PCIe, NVMe, BIOS/UEFI, system boot process).
  • Experience with storage test utilities and system logging tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in a hardware validation, system integration, or engineering technician role.
  • Ability to follow engineering procedures, document results clearly, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with test automation frameworks or CI pipelines.
  • Familiarity with server platforms from major OEMs (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro).
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage ecosystems, JBOD/JBOF systems, or PCIe switch fabrics.
  • Prior experience testing NVMe SSDs or embedded storage products.

Responsibilities

  • Execute system‑level validation and interoperability test plans across diverse Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server/Client environments.
  • Build, configure, and maintain testbeds including physical servers, JBOD/JBOF, PCIe add‑in cards, and bootable OS images.
  • Perform hardware bring‑up, cabling, BIOS configuration, firmware flashing, and board‑level setup for validation environments.
  • Debug system‑level issues by reviewing OS logs, dmesg traces, platform events, and firmware behavior to identify potential root causes.
  • Run performance, stress, and compatibility tools (e.g., fio, nvme‑cli, smartmontools) to evaluate product behavior.
  • Assist engineers by capturing reproducible failure signatures and documenting them in JIRA with complete log sets and environment information.
  • Support development and maintenance of automation scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) used in repetitive test workflows.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and QA teams to drive issues to closure.
  • Maintain inventory of test assets, assist with lab organization, and ensure equipment readiness.
