Noblis is seeking Technical Writers to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for various projects and initiatives. This role involves collaborating with technical teams to ensure that all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and tailored to the needs of different audiences. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the National Airspace System (NAS) and the FAA's mission to enhance aviation safety and efficiency.

  • Leverage the technical team to write, review, compile, or edit cohesive technical documentation and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Provide research and write professional documents, including program reports and procedures, documentation, and training materials.
  • Compile diverse policy, technical, statistical, demographic, or financial information and translate for understanding by non-technical personnel or broader user bases.
  • Edit professional documents for content, format, flow, and integrity in conformance with best practices.
  • Determine the suitability of material for target audiences and provide additional or missing materials as needed.
  • Successfully pass an FAA background investigation/verification and receive a successful final suitability determination.
  • Proven experience in technical writing, document editing, and content creation.
  • Strong background in compiling and analyzing diverse types of information for clear communication.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to determine the suitability of material for different target audiences.
  • Experience using MS Office.
  • Familiarization with standards, styles, and formats for publishing in scientific and/or technical journals and publications.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • U.S. citizen or green card permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for 3+ years.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and standards.
  • Experience in creating documentation and training materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in using document editing and content management tools.
  • Providing current support to FAA ATEPS II (air traffic engineering program support).
  • FAA Experience within the past 12 months.
  • Current FAA suitability.
