About The Position

Delivers training to the Company’s service personnel and their customers and Develops classroom and self-study training material. Assists managers with decisions concerning direction, scheduling of classroom training.Evaluates effectiveness of training, suggests and implements improvements.

Requirements

Ability to perform all assigned duties.
Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skill.
Travel up to 70% of time.
Demonstrate organizational skills and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
LMS (Learning Management System).
Recognized as Subject Matter Expert in Compression, (explicit knowledge and skill across package types) Waukesha, Caterpillar 35/36/ULB and controls.
Knowledge of test design and delivery.
Detailed knowledge of principles, methods and techniques used for adult education.
Knowledge and understanding of Company business units and products.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of production processes and equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and good driving record and ability to drive a light truck for an extended number of hours a day, several times per week.
Waukesha GET and ESM certified, or CAT commission certified, maintained as required by OEM.
Typically at least 10 years experience in a Field Service Technician and/or Service Manager role.
Experience that brings the tacit knowledge needed to specialize and to qualify for moving into a higher level training and development role.
Typically at least 5 years training delivery experience.
Typically led development of at least 4 courses.
Expected to serve as a resource to others for knowledge transfer, training and checking work.
May occasionally lead a team.
Must be able to travel 25% - 50%.
Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, use PC and talk or hear.
Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds may be required.
Occasional travel to field locations.
Standing and walking in hot or cold conditions.
Most assignments regularly require problem identification and resolution.
Recommends solutions to non-recurring problems by reviewing, interpreting and evaluating various precedents and data.
Anticipates and proactively solves moderately complex problems.
Expected to regularly recommend and implement methods and procedures to improve efficiency within scope of role.
Assigns tech support cases to and leads other trainers.
Actions and decisions impact costs and schedule performance in assigned area.

Responsibilities

Deliver instructor-led training of company’s advanced compressor and engine courses, controls and electronics courses.
Deliver training to audiences, along with subject matter experts at times. Training sessions include classroom and one-on-one coaching.
Assist managers with developing schedule and maintain training schedule.
Identify training opportunities, research and create new training material and update training as needed.
Design tests.
Evaluate student performance and evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
Provide technical reviews of online forum exchanges between SMEs and Techs.
Stay in close contact with supervisors to assure that training is meeting expectations.
Ensure that materials and training room (either on-site or at a remote site) is in order and is set-up prior to class.
Assist with the implementation of training certification plans.
Interface with field management to help develop training strategies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
