The primary function of this position is to deliver training content for manufacturing business clients who choose Delta College as their training provider. This role will train adult employees at their place of business or at the Delta College main campus using classrooms and labs with Delta College provided material. This position is ideal for the individual seeking meaningful part-time work on an as-needed basis. Training is delivered on a short-term basis for individual clients on dates/times that are mutually agreed upon by Delta College, the business, and the instructor. The majority of training will occur M-F during the hours of 7:30am-4:30pm in four or eight-hour training sessions. Although participant experience can vary, the typical class will consist of employees with basic, entry-level skills. Preferred candidates will have a passion for teaching and the ability to tie real-world experiences to course work so participants can understand the relevancy of what they are learning and how it applies in a manufacturing environment. Training is performed in the classroom using PowerPoint, videos, technical manuals/drawings, and tutorials provided by Delta College. Additional training is performed in hands-on labs using tools and equipment provided by Delta College or the employer. Training learning assessments are provided to participants and grading of the assessments is required during the training time. Preparation time/course review time is compensated. This position will require advanced technical knowledge focused on manufacturing. The role will teach to professionals on the following topics: Hand and Power Tool Safety and Identification, and Precision Measurement and Industrial Gauge Reading.
