The Technical Trainer position at Nordex SE is centered around the development, coordination, and execution of technical training programs specifically for Nordex and Acciona wind turbines. The role is crucial in ensuring that service technicians, commissioners, customers, and subcontractors are well-trained in various aspects of wind turbine technology, including turbine control, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety protocols. The training center located in West Branch, Iowa serves as the primary venue for these educational initiatives, which encompass a wide range of topics essential for the effective operation and maintenance of wind turbines. In this role, the Technical Trainer will be responsible for executing Major Corrective Training, which includes specialized training on blade exchanges, gearbox replacements, and main bearing swaps. The trainer will also conduct technical training focused on the electrical components of onshore wind turbines, such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), pitch, and yaw systems, as well as maintenance and service procedures. Additionally, the trainer will lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) trainings, which cover critical topics such as climb training, first aid, CPR, fire awareness, and manual handling. The position requires the development of on-the-job demonstration content and at-site training materials for major corrective works. The Technical Trainer will implement various learning formats, including classroom training, on-the-job training, and virtual learning, to effectively qualify customers, subcontractors, and staff members. A key aspect of the role involves qualifying trainer colleagues through a train-the-trainer concept, ensuring that all training programs are delivered effectively and meet the required standards. The Technical Trainer will also act as a liaison between different departments and external clients, providing guidance in the development of HSE training programs and ensuring that all training content aligns with internal service standards and health, safety, and environmental management system requirements. This role demands a proactive approach to assessing training needs, developing curricula, and evaluating comprehension to ensure that all personnel are adequately prepared for their roles in the wind energy sector. The trainer will also be responsible for maintaining the learning management system and training records, as well as developing online training content using authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Easy Generator.
