About The Position

Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Practitioner responsible for safeguarding sensitive information, personnel, and facilities against unauthorized technical surveillance threats. This role involves conducting inspections, evaluations, and countermeasures to detect, isolate, and neutralize potential espionage or eavesdropping activities. The practitioner applies specialized knowledge of electronic surveillance, physical security, and threat analysis to ensure compliance with national security standards and organizational policies. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in information technology, security, electronics, or related field is desirable
  • Graduate of an accredited federal or DoD TSCM training course (e.g., Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM certification).
  • At least 5 years of operational experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic surveillance technologies, counterintelligence principles, and security compliance standards.
  • Experience using TSCM equipment and conducting technical inspections.
  • Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and recommend practical mitigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and briefings.
  • TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TSCM inspections and surveys of facilities, systems, and devices to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Operate and maintain specialized TSCM equipment to detect and counter surveillance threats.
  • Conduct security evaluations of secure rooms, classified storage areas, and construction projects for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Provide vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigations to reduce risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with security officers, counterintelligence professionals, and organizational stakeholders to ensure coordinated protective measures.
  • Support investigations and threat analysis related to foreign intelligence or insider risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and post inspection summaries documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain readiness of TSCM equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
  • Travel to conduct inspections or provide support as required.
