Support Activities for Transportation

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing technology-related projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope and aligned with business goals. You will work closely with clients, project managers, developers, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Responsible for ensuring that Infrastructure and software standards are maintained for all DP World regional locations under area of support, with the ability to perform site audits as required
  • Perform proactive maintenance and management activities within team core platforms
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of all critical operational software applications, IT processes, and procedures
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals within the company ITKB
  • Creates / updates work instructions for new tasks or as the steps for existing tasks are modified, ensures all documentation is in the proper format and is stored in the location identified by the IT Management team
  • Evaluate and improve existing programs by evaluating objectives and specifications, reviewing proposed changes and making recommendations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic and escalated technical issues using remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Provide support on network systems and protocols as well as server hardware and operating systems as required
  • Provide white-glove IT support for hardware, software, mobile devices, and conferencing tools
  • Ensure seamless operation of executive workstations, home office setups, and travel tech
  • Set up and troubleshoot AV systems for board meetings, town halls, and virtual conferences
  • Adhere to DP World's security process while proactively identifying security issues and escalating these to the TSE team lead or appropriate manager
  • Adhere to the DP World Software testing and approval process
  • Support third party application management, package creation and deployments
  • Adhere to the DP World purchasing process to ensure that all IT equipment is properly tracked throughout the hardware lifecycle
  • Provide onsite support for site launches/expansions/changes and server / network refreshes with up to 30% travel (required)
  • Participation in a regional on-call rotation (required)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Required to work five (5) days per week in office (no hybrid/remote arrangement)
  • Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
  • Communicative with excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills in English and local site language, when applicable
  • Solid attention to detail and the ability to create and document process and procedures
  • The ability to work within a very demanding environment and handle stress in a positive manner and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • A good understanding of network systems and protocols as well as server hardware and operating systems
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously through to completion without prompting
  • Strong task tracking and troubleshooting skills required
  • Experience and/or certifications for MS O365 Admin, SharePoint Administration and InTune a plus
  • Experience with PowerShell and / or scripting languages
