About The Position

The Technical Support Specialist at Topcon Healthcare is responsible for providing expert technical assistance to customers, ensuring effective resolution of inquiries, and supporting the implementation of new projects globally. This role requires a customer-oriented approach and the ability to troubleshoot and repair products both in-house and on-site, contributing to the overall success of the support team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Technology, Biomedical Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent; preferred engineering degree such as Biomedical, Electrical, or Mechanical.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Networking, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Negotiation, people, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and provide detailed follow-up.
  • Knowledge of medical device preventative maintenance and repair.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Strong IT background.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional assistance to clients in answering inquiries and interpreting resource catalogs via telephone.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Topcon products in-house and at the customer's site.
  • Provide remote assistance via internet connection or phone.
  • Provide technical and clinical support to customers, distributors, and employees.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Complete issues escalated by the support team, including opening and tracking RMAs for repair.
