About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are seeking an innovative and solution-oriented Technical Support Engineer (SysDE I) to join our team in supporting the production operations, design, development, integration, and deployment of automated test, SCADA, and manufacturing applications with their associated OT (Operational Technology) infrastructure. This role combines hardware, software, and IT stack support for test and production systems within an active satellite manufacturing facility. In this position, you will primarily lead technical troubleshooting during critical downtime events to ensure peak system performance. Additionally, you will enhance documentation and contribute to design and development initiatives based on first-hand feedback gained during your support activities. This highly collaborative position interfaces across multiple Amazon Leo teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience in automation technology troubleshooting and development, with the ability to understand and contribute to reliability metrics and testing within large-scale automated systems. The role requires hands-on technical expertise combined with strategic thinking to drive continuous improvement and deliver business-aligned solutions in an active production facility. The typical schedule requires 4 days in-person per week, including one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) to align with Leo production shifts. The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team is responsible for designing and commissioning automation and tooling for Satellite testing and production. This in-house team of engineers and support technicians work directly with satellite designers, testers, and manufacturing engineers to solve unique problems in high-volume satellite production.
