About The Position

Technical Support Engineer 2's job is to provide advanced technical support for all technology-related operations, contributing to the success of the organization's goals and strategic objectives. The Technical Support Engineer 2 will offer comprehensive technical assistance, which includes managing, maintaining, and optimizing critical functional areas, such as applications, tools, and hardware resource.

Requirements

  • Applies company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Follows industry best practices and standard operating procedures to analyze and troubleshoot incidents and service requests.
  • Contributes to and follows detailed instructions for defined processes on most work.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional technical resources to complete project tasks and provide day-to-day support.
  • Build stable working relationships with internal stakeholders. Leverages influence to advocate for stakeholder needs.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain applications, patches, security fixes, automation, and support tools to the Choctaw Nation environment.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles to aid in problem resolution.
  • Provide intermediate troubleshooting across stage, test, and production environments.
  • Provide intermediate technical support to internal stakeholders escalating work to internal IT teams when necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management
  • Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent education, relevant certifications.
  • Intermediate experience supporting various operating systems.
  • Intermediate experience supporting desktop and server environments.
  • Intermediate experience creating automation for installations, configuration changes, and system management.
  • Intermediate experience troubleshooting pre-deployment and post go-live issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Two years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science and six [6] years of directly related experience, OR ten [10]] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience in Windows, Linux, and virtualization environments such as VMWare
  • Experience in desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7/10, Server 2008/2012
  • Experience with PowerShell, VBScript, and batch scripting languages
  • Experience creating custom scripts to drive installs, uninstalls, custom actions and system management
  • Ability to troubleshoot Packaging, Deployment, and System issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop packages for deployment of applications, patches, and updates to the Choctaw Nation desktop environment.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to supplement packaging and other support tools as required.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases and FAQ resources on the file server to aid in problem resolution.
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post deployment and recommend solutions as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to Technical Support Specialists to help them serve the End-User community more proficiently.
  • Modify configurations, utilities, and software default settings for VDI.
  • Modify configuration, utilities, and maintain Print roaming services and Single sign on software.
  • Create, test, and deploy software packages through EPM and Group policy.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by management.
