ISRP CONTINGENT - Technical Subject Matter Expert – Research & Develop
About The Position
Role Overview: Lead R&D/T&E for next‑generation wireless surveillance systems; liaise with vendors and operators; develop integration and training. What This Means in Practice • On‑site performance at private client‑controlled locations is the default. • No guarantee of telework; alternate arrangements must be explicitly authorized. • Personnel may rotate between: Headquarters/central program offices; regional technical/operational centers; field/project offices; secure operational sites. • OCONUS travel is possible but not continuous — generally short‑duration planning, coordination, or specific mission support.
Requirements
- Operational knowledge of GSM/CDMA/UMTS/LTE/5G NR and Wi‑Fi protocols
- Experience with cell‑site simulators and lawful use policies
- Systems integration across aircraft/vehicular platforms
- TS/SCI eligibility; ability to instruct and certify operators
- 15+ years ISR or advanced systems R&D; wireless surveillance integration
Responsibilities
- Define requirements and coordinate multi‑agency/vendor development
- Test/evaluate across 2G/3G/4G/5G and 802.11 protocols for operational use
- Develop integration schemes for aerial and ground platforms
- Create training curricula and certify operators; track performance and maintenance
- Monitor commercial tech changes and shape enhancements
