About The Position

Merrick is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to join a multidisciplinary team of engineering and design personnel serving the Nuclear Services & Technology (NST) Business Unit (BU) in our project office/company headquarters in multiple locations throughout the US and available remotely. This dynamic engineering group specializes in the design of prototype/one-off hot cells, gloveboxes and custom equipment for specialty research equipment and custom-designed, remotely operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program
  • Minimum 18 years of experience
  • PE License required

Responsibilities

  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and have an important impact on extensive organizational activities
  • Sets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests.
  • Regularly works on programs with complex features
  • Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
  • Routinely interacts with organizational leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials or other organizations and companies
