In this position...
Technical Specialist - Wheel Speed Sensing System will have global responsibilities leading corporate design and verification strategy for in-house wheel speed sensor system designs, manufacturing best practices, and supporting issue resolution. You will also be responsible for the verification strategy of externally purchased wheel speed sensors and new technologies related to them. You will be interacting with cross-functional teams, including, but not limited to: Suspension, Brake Controls Hardware, Brake Controls Software, Axle, Fixed Brake Applications Design and Release Engineering, Variable Brake Applications Design and Release Engineering, Component Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, external suppliers, and vehicle dynamics to achieve these goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience as the Subject Matter Expert in Wheel Speed Sensors design and bringing those products to market for a Major OEM.

• Expert level knowledge of wheel speed sensors manufacturing process and future technology awareness.

• Experience developing guides for design engineers to aid in navigating wheel speed sensor system design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and author Wheel Speed Sensor functional, design, and installation requirements.
• Define system and component robustness/ reliability demonstration methods and targets.
• Perform wheel speed sensor hardware Technical Design Reviews and assessments throughout the development process.
• Lead problem solving investigations to resolve durability, reliability, and signal concerns.
• Optimize wheel speed sensor signal robustness while maintaining durability.
• Author and maintain Wheel Speed Sensor System FMEA.
• Signoff responsibility for wheel speed sensors at program milestones. Review and approve all FMA documentation (DVP, Boundary, DFMEA, Design Rules etc.).
• Mentoring and training engineers working with wheel speed sensors.
• Collaborate with industry experts for continuous learning and best practices.
• Work with manufacturing engineering on continuous FTT and quality improvement.
• Develop and implement new design process methodologies and analytical tools.
• Maintain Wheel Speed Sensor System Interface Control Document.
• Own the sign-off of sensor / tone ring air gap and dynamic deflection.
• Lead Function Safety FSR’s/TSR’s for Wheel Speed Sensing.
• Lead the joint hardware and software development of VDA protocol.
