About The Position

Non-exempt position. Expected to maintain bench competencies and work at the bench for at least 50% of time worked. Function independently and collaboratively with the laboratory leadership in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. Perform a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and act as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. May be responsible for instrument correlation, and method validation. Correlate data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. Participate in laboratory quality assurance programs and performance improvement activities. Assist with staff and student training, orientation of new employees, updating procedures, and providing technical leadership for areas of responsibility. Provide direction and problem solving skills for laboratory functions. Implement standardization efforts in the laboratory as directed by laboratory leadership. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Individuals hired into this position are required 2 complete 2 years in the role before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
