About the position

As a Technical Specialist II at JR Automation, you will collaborate with various teams including Build, Engineering, and Machining/Fabrication to ensure that manufacturing processes align with design specifications, cost, and delivery targets. This role involves mentoring Level 1 associates, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and coordinating project expectations to facilitate on-time delivery of projects. You will also be responsible for tracking project statuses, addressing technical questions, and promoting a teamwork culture within the machinist group.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Design Review discussions to ensure manufacturability aligns with design, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Mentors and coaches Level 1 associates, demonstrating effective leadership.
  • Assumes contingency support for business units when Level 1 individuals are unavailable.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding outsourced capabilities and optimizes procurement activities.
  • Develops and sets goals for team members in coordinating project expectations.
  • Releases jobs to Machining and Fabrication to meet build requirements.
  • Coordinates unscheduled work to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Provides technical answers related to manufacturability and interprets technical data.
  • Tracks status and progress of piece parts and buyouts for relevant projects.
  • Tracks defects and participates in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Interacts with Design Engineering and contributes to Design Reviews.
  • Assists in executing ISO/Quality standards.
  • Promotes a teamwork culture within the machinist group.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent; technical/vocational/college preferred.
  • Five (5) years' experience with machining and best practices; hands-on knowledge of assembling; customer service experience.
  • Training in machining, print/drawing interpretation, GD&T, 2-D and 3D CAD, and Microsoft Office Products.

Nice-to-haves
