Job Summary The Technical Specialist provides technical expertise in physical and mechanical testing of consumer products to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports laboratory operations by interpreting standards, resolving technical issues, and advising internal teams and clients on compliance matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting Required
  • Good knowledge and demonstrated application of best practices in laboratory and personnel management.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer product regulations and, safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance on consumer products safety and performance standards, and regulations (e.g. CPSIA, Canada SOR, ASTM, ANSI, EN, ISO).
  • Support development, revision, and optimization of test protocols/plans.
  • Participate in different standard development organization’s committee meetings (e.g., ASTM)
  • Stay current with changes to regulations and standards affecting consumer products.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for sales, account managers and clients regarding test and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical training to laboratory staff, internal stakeholders and clients.
