About The Position

The Technical Specialist GHG Reviewer will support SCS Global Services in conducting greenhouse gas (GHG) reviews primarily for the Renewable Fuels and Circular Economy sectors. This role involves evaluating GHG emissions calculations provided by companies and ensuring compliance with various certification standards. The position is remote and requires a strong technical background in chemical processing and biofuel production, along with a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. chemistry or related), or 5+ years of experience working in a related sector
• Understanding of the principles of Life Cycle Accounting, according to ISO 14064/65, and other international standards (e.g. PEF framework, WRI GHG Protocol, etc)
• Experience working with international biofuels LCA models, including the EU RED (e.g. Biograce), GHGenius, RenovaCalc, and GREET
• Complete fluency in English and work experience that involves professional written communication
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management
• Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
• Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment

Responsibilities

• Conduct GHG reviews (95%)
• Complete and deliver GHG reports and related comments to auditors and program staff on time and according to program requirements
• Interact with clients and audit teams to follow up on nonconformity closure when necessary
• Support development of new procedures and processes to review greenhouse gas calculations efficiently and effectively
• Occasional support to companies not being certified by SCS to perform GHG emissions calculations (5%)
