This position works closely with Systems and Instrumentation Technical Specialist to ensure standardized manufacturing quality. Must be able to leverage knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of Systems (threaded utility piping) and Instrumentation to assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes, expansion of material management, adherence to manufacturing specific detail drawings and standard operating procedures. The Technical Specialist Assistant will be involved in developing Enerflex's Manufacturing Standards program. This program will be focused on realizing company goals of reducing cost, setting labor standards, improving efficiencies, reducing cycle times, improving throughput, as well as the development of an effective, highly skilled, and technical workforce.

  • Perform in-progress and final inspections for Systems & Instrumentation (S&I) scope.
  • Verify build quality and scope alignment with drawings and 3D models.
  • Ensure adherence to work instructions and SOPs.
  • Support training, procedure development, and mentorship programs.
  • Confirm equipment, piping, and supports align with P&IDs and design.
  • Ensure all S&I assembly work meets quality standards and is inspected before disassembly.
  • Manage proper restocking or disposal of excess materials.
  • Improve tracking, cost control, and material waste reduction.
  • Assist Technical Specialists with S&I scope and support supervisors with technical issues.
  • Track and report S&I deficiencies.
  • Identify tools, equipment, and methods for process improvement.
  • Promote cross-department communication and provide feedback for standardization.
  • Contribute to material planning and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in Gas Processing/Compression and trade training.
  • Build cross-functional relationships across Applications, Design, Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly, and Shipping to enhance product and process quality.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma; 2-year degree or professional certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of Systems and Instrumentation scope of work related to Process and Gas Compression units.
  • Thorough knowledge of trade tools, working methods, and materials part numbers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of reading and interpreting P&ID's, GA, and fabrication drawings
  • Minimum 4-years' experience with System (threaded utility piping) and Instrumentation installation in the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Flexibility, with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical training experience
  • Experience with field service and commissioning modular gas processing & compression equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving methodologies preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Visio, Word, and Excel)
  • AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SAP experience preferred.
