About The Position

Technical Solutions Architects are quintessential customer advocates with both superb business acumen and a high degree of technical proficiency. As a key contributor around Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure, you will focus on transforming business through innovative solutions that deliver best in class omnichannel experiences. You will use data-driven approaches and cutting-edge AI tools to align and execute WWT’s portfolio across the business. Specifically, you will be responsible for consulting with clients to design and document scalable multicloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring client success using frameworks like Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and FinOps.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years selling, architecting, implementing and/or marketing Google Cloud solutions, with a specific track record in operational excellence.
  • Deep expertise in and prior experience with Google Cloud infrastructure and operations.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform, to drive cloud infrastructure automation and financial observability tools, such as Apptio and/or Google Cloud FinOps Hub, to achieve cloud cost optimization.
  • Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS models with the ability to architect for scale and reliability in Google Cloud,
  • Deep familiarity and proficiency with modern AI tools. Specifically, experience using Gen AI (e.g. Google Gemini) and related tools to drive innovation and scale while accelerating profitability. Broader understanding of modern Generative, Applied and Physical AI/ML workloads and how to support them in Google Cloud.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate “builder” concepts to C-level executives.
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or confident ability to demonstrate equivalent-level subject matter expertise with immediate plan to either acquire or re-aquire this certification. Other Google Cloud professional level certifications may be considered.
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Ability for overnight travel (25% - 50%).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Portfolio Management: In collaboration with the larger GS&A team, build and maintain the Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure solution portfolio as part of the team that defines the go-to-market strategy for WWT to grow our cloud business. More specifically, you will drive the creation of standardized and repeatable solution offerings in conjunction with our strategic partners and their programs utilizing proven frameworks and methodologies.
  • Pre-Sales Leadership: Provide technical pre-sales support to field sales teams in their efforts to win new logos and grow our existing customer relationships. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of public cloud architecture and operations at scale, focusing on such concepts as Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), Financial Operations (FinOps) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Solution Development & Content: Build and maintain technical marketing and proof of work collateral for our field teams and our customers to help position and sell Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure solutions. This includes: Technical Solution Workshops: Delivering reference architectures built with common best practices and advisory services focused on multicloud strategy and governance. Proofs of Concept (POCs): Utilizing the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) to build complex multicloud architectures and demonstrate excellence in supporting operational processes. Thought Leadership: Writing articles covering market trends, such as the evolution of platform engineering and cloud cost optimization.
  • Partner/Solution Alignment: Work with other technology solution areas within GS&A as well as our professional services organization and trusted services partners to build complex cloud infrastructures that incorporate class-leading hybrid solutions from complimentary OEMs (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, NetApp, Hashicorp, etc.).
  • Enablement: Train WWT staff and our strategic partners on our unique ability to market, sell and deliver cloud solutions, specifically teaching the field how to spot opportunities for Cloud Strategy & Infrastructure.
