This part-time/year-round position in the Utilities Department requires skill in communicating in-person or by telephone with tact and diplomacy. The position is located in the Utilities Customer Service Administration Division of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is primarily responsible for performing work of a technical nature that varies depending on the program to which assigned. The position uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments that may consist of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence. Licenses, certifications, and/or relevant experience and education in the assigned technical field are typically required prior to assuming this position. Examples of duties may include: providing technical assistance in solid waste collection activities or line maintenance collection or distribution duties; working independently to read water meters for utility billing; driving/operating/transporting materials and equipment; performing herbicides and/or pesticides application; driving, operating, and removing, pruning, maintaining and preparing trees for relocation; providing technical assistance or performing technical support functions. The necessary skills, knowledge, and ability and/or licenses and certifications to perform departmental specific tasks must be acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position. For positions located in the Parks and Recreation Department a Class A Commercial driver license (CDL) is required. For positions located in the Utilities Department a Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL) may be required. Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator) is required.
