About The Position

This full-time position is for a Technical Services Training and Intern Advisor who will oversee training programs for Resident and Touring Shows. The role involves managing learning management systems, coordinating training sessions, maintaining records, generating compliance reports, and developing training curricula. Additionally, the advisor will manage the technical intern program, including job postings, interviews, placement, housing, scheduling, and mentorship. The position also includes organizing and attending industry conferences and events for recruiting and outreach initiatives, and collaborating on various projects within the Technical Services Department.

Requirements

  • Learning Management System Administration Experience (HSI and Synapse)
  • Content Creation experience (ex. Storyline)
  • AA degree required
  • Three to five years relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Working knowledge of governing Health and Safety bodies, such as OSHA, ANSI and CSA
  • 30-hour OSHA course completion card required
  • Experienced in all MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Must be willing and able to travel
  • Willingness to instruct various H&S classes required
  • Available to work a flexible schedule (various shifts, days of week), as determined by show schedules

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and various other databases for Resident and Touring shows; Create classes, enter data, and update information; Setup new employee accounts, reset passwords, and enroll employees in classes
  • Assign Resident Show technicians to attend required Instructor Lead and Online Training Programs
  • Assist Touring show Technical Management with assigning technicians to attend required Instructor Lead and Online Training Programs
  • Generate reports, as needed, regarding health, safety, and skills training
  • Arrange training with providers, process Invoices, make the necessary reservations (rooms, equipment, trainers, etc.) for training sessions on a pre-determined schedule, ensure the training environment is prepared for the classes and greet instructors; Attend training sessions, when necessary, to ensure they run smoothly
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of training session sign-in sheets, certifications, reports and training statistics; With the show’s technical leadership, enforce compliancy for mandated trainings
  • Provide monthly training compliance reports to the Director of Production Services, Heads of Departments, Technical Directors, and Partners for review
  • Print training documents and distribute certificates and qualification cards
  • Schedule training, in accordance with show schedules and in coordination with show managers; coordinate instructors and oversee their instructor certificate compliance, audit courses when needed
  • Coordinate with Health and Safety Managers at both RSD and IHQ
  • Manage ordering of training supplies, manage loaner equipment/supplies and recommend low-level training courses; Work with Sr Technical Director to build and work within the training budget and complete concur reports monthly
  • Support and advise the Director of Production Services with Technical Training Development, as well as course curriculum development, review and oversight. Attend training, as needed, for OSHA compliance
  • Become an instructor for various H&S classes; maintain certifications as required
  • Travel, as needed, to resident shows to provide administrative support for technical training
  • Research Health and Safety Standards set forth by OSHA, ANSI and CSA and stay updated on any changes to these standards
  • Manage Job posting for Technical interns; Interview, select and work with the shows on placement. Arrange housing and be present when they move in. Set the Intern schedule, meet with them weekly, set up show shadows and events
  • Plan and organize our involvement in the USITT conference to include the booth design and installation, and panel discussions or training sessions; Attend the conference for recruiting purposes
  • Organize the USITT Training grounds event; contract with the vendors, schedule and communicate the event with the attendees as well as the showrooms and venues
  • With the Sr Technical Director, oversee all outreach initiatives and provide showroom tours as needed
  • Manage all aspects of the Developmental Training program; vendors, booking venues, budget, communication and enrolling the classes
  • Collaborate on various activities organized by the Technical Services Department by contributing knowledge and resources to projects involving current resident shows, upcoming projects and new creations
  • Assist Sr Director of Technical Services, as needed, and all other duties as assigned
