Technical Services Support Intern
About The Position
Are you currently working towards a degree in the IT field? Connexus Energy has the 2026 summer internship for you. The Technical Services Support Intern will assist with a wide range of technical support for Connexus Energy’s personal computers, printers, telephones, mobile devices and other related equipment. Location: The internship is a temporary position requiring full-time, in-office hours at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd. Ramsey, MN 55303. Based on current requirements, hires must reside or relocate to Minnesota. This temporary position is not eligible for relocation or housing. Compensation: Anticipated hiring pay is between $17.00 and $20.00 per hour. The final compensation is based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience and skill level. Based in Ramsey, Connexus Energy is Minnesota’s largest electric cooperative, providing electricity, renewable energy alternatives and related services to 150,000 residential and commercial members just north of the Twin Cities. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrolled in and pursuing a degree in computer science, preferably with the technology emphasis.
- 6 months or more experience in customer service
Nice To Haves
- Strong organizational skills
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Knowledge of office equipment operations such as PCs, printers, portable devices, and telephones
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
Responsibilities
- Assist in integrating PCs into the office environment, including the assembly, configuration, maintenance and follow-up
- Install and configure software and hardware for PCs and laptops
- Maintain copiers, printers, and fax machines
- Perform daily technical support health checks by visually monitoring and reporting health status indicators to technical staff to ensure potential or in-progress problems can be quickly addressed.
- Perform IT support function in accordance with Connexus Energy’s service level agreement.
- Support the IT phone line and provide first level support.
- Process, record and prioritize all IT support requests as directed.
- Monitor pool laptop activity and reconcile pool inventory to checked-out devices to ensure checkout procedures are being followed.
