The Technical Service Engineer at Hypertherm will provide essential technical support for Hypertherm products, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective problem resolution. This role involves troubleshooting, training, and mentoring, while also documenting technical issues and collaborating with various teams to enhance product development and service delivery.

  • Provide timely and accurate product and application technical support to customers and partners.
  • Deliver technical product training to customers on usage, maintenance, and optimization of Hypertherm products.
  • Facilitate resolution of account service or application issues and develop long-term service partnerships with channel partners and end users.
  • Document key work activities with a focus on technical problem-solving and knowledge library building.
  • Mentor others through on-the-job training and product knowledge sharing.
  • Manage challenging technical issues and collaborate on root cause analysis and action plans.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, including those who may be difficult.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware and software.
  • Develop strategies for improving the technical service user experience.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to gather customer requirements for new product development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or an associate degree with relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial electrical, mechanical, and/or pneumatic systems.
  • 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing environment with an interest in learning new technologies.
  • Expertise in automation, drives and motors, networking/IT, industrial programming, and CNC machine code.
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial cutting equipment (plasma, waterjet, laser, oxyfuel) in a technical service or related field.
