Lincoln Electric has recently expanded into the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure sector. We are seeking an EV Charger Technical Service Engineer to provide expert technical support and ensure the reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction of our new EV charger product line. This role requires a candidate with a strong technical background and experience, preferably from the EV charger or capital equipment industries, and specific experience with power electronics. This Technical Service Engineer will cover the Midwest portion of the United States. It's highly desired to be located around the Metro Detriot, MI area.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical experience, preferably in EV charging systems, industrial machinery, or capital equipment.
  • Power Electronics Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience with power electronics.
  • Education: Technical degree preferred (Engineering, Electrical, or related field). Equivalent experience with strong technical achievements will also be considered.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using technical support tools, diagnostic software, and service management systems.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed. Estimated Travel ~50%

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Deliver expert-level support for the EV charger product line, diagnosing and resolving customer issues with speed and precision.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the customer service team to ensure seamless communication and resolution of technical challenges.
  • On-Site Service: Travel to customer locations as needed to provide hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed records of service activities, including customer interactions, technical problems, and corrective actions.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for customers, field service staff, and internal teams on the proper use, maintenance, and repair of EV chargers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Gather customer feedback and field insights to identify opportunities for product enhancements and service process improvements.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute technical expertise in the development of service strategies, programs, and best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure all service and repair activities meet company standards, safety requirements, and applicable industry regulations
