Job Description ITW Hartness is looking for motivated individuals to enter our Technical Scholar program with an interest in learning to work as a Mechanical/Electrical Technician in our Assembly team and travel to customer sites across the United States for Field Support. At the successful completion of the program, you will have the mechanical and electrical skills to work with our state-of the art packaging equipment to complete complex mechanical and electrical assembly as well as perform diagnostic and functional testing. You will also have a range of experience working within various production facilities at our customer locations doing installations and equipment updates. The position will be based at our headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.

Requirements

  • You must be able to learn and understand assembly tools and equipment.
  • You will need to work safely in a fast-paced team environment and meet the production schedule while producing high quality work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and find the root cause of issues as well as think logically about solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills to diagnose problems and repair issues in an effective manner
  • Multitasking capability with ability to identify and execute priority tasks.
  • Capable, willing, and interested in traveling up to 20%-25% with a valid Driver's License, which includes commercial air travel while on school breaks.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student at a partnered Technical College with ITW Hartness.
  • Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of mechatronics education or similar experience.
  • Interest in developing a strong mechanical/electrical background.
  • The ability to stand or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Capable of lifting 35 lbs.
  • Capable of bending, twisting, crouching, or kneeling.
