About The Position

We are currently looking for an Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team! This individual will serve as a Smalley product expert and be a part of our technical support network. We have a diverse customer base where many of our products are custom designed to fit the needs of their applications. This individual will work directly with our customers to assist with product selection, technical design questions and general product support. The Technical Sales Support Specialist will spend their day learning about our customers unique application requirements, helping them find the right product, and developing the customer experience. This individual will collaborate directly with our internal Sales, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure best practices in all functions of the job. This includes being required to learn and provide technical guidance to our customers in a support, educational capacity while considering the best interest of all of departments. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Associates degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in a Sales, Marketing or Engineering customer support role
  • High technical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis

Nice To Haves

  • CRM platform experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CAD programs preferred
  • Engineering or Customer support experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partners with external facing terms to develop and implement best practices related to developing leads and opportunities
  • Collaborates with Marketing, Sales and Engineering team on shared projects, initiatives and strategies
  • Builds strategic relationships and partners with customers and distributors in the best interests of Smalley
  • Provides timely and quality services and support to all internal and external customers
  • Interacts with customers and potential customers through email, phone calls, direct visits, and trade shows
  • Evaluates, qualifies, and responds to inbound design/products/technical inquiries helping customers and prospects with the questions and requests
  • Creates technical content for customer requests, such as CAD drawings
  • Acts as a Smalley product, application and industry resource for internal and external customers
  • Supports sales growth through opportunity follow-ups and account/opportunity development/nurture activities
  • Enters and maintains lead and customer related data in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assists with customer training on and off-site
  • Represents Smalley at trade shows and other company events
  • Assists in the creation of marketing material and technical writing
  • Prepares, analyzes and reports on regularly tracked metrics and performance to goals and objectives
  • Supports large scale process improvement, serves as a change agent, and strives for continuous improvement
