This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Engineer – East Coast region in United States. This role is responsible for driving business growth and providing technical solutions for industrial clients across the Eastern United States. The Technical Sales Engineer combines engineering expertise with a consultative sales approach to design, recommend, and deliver custom metal fabrication solutions for high-temperature and corrosive environments. The position manages the full sales lifecycle, from interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints to negotiating contracts for complex engineered products. The role involves cultivating long-term relationships with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams while staying informed on market trends and product innovations. Candidates will work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure feasibility and client satisfaction. This position offers a dynamic, client-facing environment with opportunities to impact business strategy and revenue growth. Ideal candidates are highly technical, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing sales and engineering consultation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in Industrial Sales, Technical Sales, or Outside Sales, preferably within metal fabrication or thermal processing industries.
  • Technical proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, blueprints, and mechanical specifications.
  • Proven track record in consultative and value-added sales cycles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (Infor preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% across the Eastern US for client visits and trade shows.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to balance multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development and identify market opportunities in the Aerospace, Chemical Processing, and Automotive sectors.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, including engineers, project managers, and procurement departments.
  • Translate complex customer requirements into RFQs and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure fabrication feasibility.
  • Execute a strategic sales plan for the Eastern US territory, maintaining a robust pipeline in the CRM.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and material innovations to inform sales strategies.
  • Promote engineered solutions involving high-temperature alloys and custom products such as ASME Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Furnace Muffles, and Industrial Fans/Blowers.
  • Attend trade shows, site visits, and client meetings as required, providing technical consultation and contract negotiation.
