About The Position

We are seeking a high-performing Chemical Engineering student entering their final year of undergraduate study for a paid summer internship that offers hands-on exposure to a career in technical sales and applications engineering. This internship is ideal for students who enjoy applying engineering fundamentals in customer-facing environments, building relationships, and learning how technical solutions are positioned, recommended, and delivered to meet real customer and business needs. The intern will be paired directly with an experienced Technical Sales & Applications Representative, gaining firsthand exposure through field ride-alongs, customer meetings, and active participation in day-to-day sales and applications activities. This role is based in the greater Tampa Bay area and provides a unique blend of field experience, technical problem-solving, and commercial insight.

Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering major entering their final year of undergraduate study
  • Strong interest in technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
  • Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and desire to understand how systems work in real operating environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally within the Tampa Bay area

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a Technical Sales & Applications Representative to support customer-facing technical activities
  • Participate in sales calls, customer meetings, and on-site visits to observe operating systems and real-world applications firsthand
  • Assist in evaluating customer processes, technical requirements, and operating conditions to help identify appropriate solutions
  • Apply chemical engineering fundamentals to support solution development, troubleshooting, and performance discussions
  • Help translate technical concepts into clear recommendations and value propositions for customers
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, proposals, and sales materials that reinforce solution design and performance
  • Utilize CRM systems and internal tools to help track customer interactions, projects, and technical data
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and customer support teams to support customer solutions
  • Contribute to special projects related to market analysis, process optimization, customer insights, or sales strategy
