About The Position

The Technical Records Specialist 1 in Admissions at Idaho State University provides a variety of records support functions, reviews and processes documents, determines and explains compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies, and takes appropriate action. The successful candidate supports the admissions team and is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of student documents. This position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure paperwork is processed efficiently. Additionally, the position requires strong computer and internet research skills, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal communication. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and International Services. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship at this time.

Requirements

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors.
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems.
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments.
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.

Nice To Haves

  • Some knowledge of medical terminology and the general benefits of Medicaid, Medicare, and major insurance companies.
  • Experience working with sensitive or restricted data.

Responsibilities

  • Enter ALEKS test scores into the Banner/Recruit systems.
  • Enter SAT/ACT test scores into the Banner/Recruit systems.
  • Enter and Scan High School transcripts and test scores into the Banner/Recruit/BDM systems.
  • Enter and Scan College transcripts into the Banner/Recruit/BDM systems.
  • Process deferment requests.
  • Double check newly scanned documents for accuracy.
  • Monitor system records for duplicates and merge when needed.
  • Error checking for system and human errors to ensure accurate and efficient record management in the Recruit system.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
