About The Position

The Technical Project Specialist in the Schenectady Facilities Operation group is responsible for Machine technology integration and CMMS for the Steam Turbine & Generator manufacturing plant within GE VERNOVA Gas Power in Schenectady, NY. They will be expected to make business critical decisions in a timely manner and meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited university of college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in the Maintenance.
  • Broad technical knowledge with proven experience in integration technologies
  • Established project management and presentation skills.
  • Computer literate with the demonstrated knowledge of CMMS systems (Maximo/L2L), SAP and Microsoft Office products such as Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Proven ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Experience with Industrial standards (MQTT, OPC)

Responsibilities

  • Work with projects, vendors and site leaders to establish effective machine communications within the network and externally.
  • Perform as the primary point of contact for operations, maintenance and project teams regarding machine IT infrastructure standards and installation
  • Support startup of equipment remote communication to confirm functionality
  • Lead application ownership, function and simplification across the site
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes and solutions aligned with industry standards
  • Ensure operational alignment with plan costs, delivery and KPIs.
  • Provide consistent follow-up and clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement using Lean TPM and 5S concepts
  • Train and support operations team in the effective use of CMMS systems
  • Active participation in safety initiatives.
