Technical Project Manager

GenBio AIPalo Alto, CA
1d$150,000 - $220,000

About The Position

GenBio AI develops multiscale foundation models to decode and simulate human biology. Our team is accelerating towards an ambitious future where scientists can unlock humanity's biggest challenges in drug discovery, healthcare, and fundamental research with AIDO (AI-Driven Digital Organism): a unified framework for predicting, simulating, and programming biology across all scales. The foundation of this vision begins today as we engineer the virtual cell to model and simulate the fundamental unit of life. This vision has brought together a talent-dense group of product-minded researchers and engineers dedicated to bringing it to reality. Our team prides itself on our strong engineering culture and highly interdisciplinary and collaborative approach. We are based in Palo Alto, with satellite offices in Paris and Abu Dhabi. As our engineering and research efforts scale, we are looking for a highly organized Technical Project Manager to ensure our teams operate with maximum efficiency and alignment. You will be the connective tissue between product, infrastructure, and research, translating high-level vision into actionable execution plans.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in technical project management or program management within a fast-paced software, AI, or techbio startup environment.
  • Technical AI Fluency: Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles, AI/ML workflows, and infrastructure to effectively communicate with deep-tech researchers and engineers.
  • Organizational Mastery: Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex, interdependent workstreams simultaneously using agile methodologies and modern tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear).
  • Communication Skills: Crisp, concise communication style with the ability to distill complex technical blockers into clear executive summaries.
  • Execution Focus: A high bias for action and a proven track record of bringing structure and order to ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Good Understanding of Molecular and Cellular Biology a Plus: Knowledge of the key questions and experimental techniques used to study cells and tissues.

Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Translation: Translate high-level product vision and open-ended research goals into detailed, executable engineering roadmaps.
  • Functional and Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the central coordination hub between various development teams and with the infrastructure and product teams to ensure tight alignment, on time delivery and seamless collaboration.
  • Delivery Management: Track daily progress, proactively identify and remove blockers, and drive projects to on-time completion.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, consistent, and transparent status updates on project health to the leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Resource Optimization: Focus the team’s efforts on critical-path deliverables, ruthlessly prioritizing tasks to eliminate duplicated effort and non-priority work.
