About The Position

Technical Project Manager Actemium Avanceon is hiring an experienced project manager with an engineering background (preferably a controls engineer or prior experience working in system integration) to join our PMO Team. Technical background in industrial controls or automation is preferred only to understand our customers and projects; this role does not involve engineering deliverables. The Project Manager will be responsible for understanding and upholding Avanceon's project execution process to lead a team of engineers in the successful delivery of customer projects. The Project Manager works closely with a designated Project Technical Lead; the two roles share responsibility for the project, with the Project Manager owning the commercial aspects and the Technical Lead owning technical delivery and quality.

Requirements

  • Prior project management experience in systems integration or relevant/transferable environments
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Consistent follow-through on administrative and documentation responsibilities, recognizing their importance to project success
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to think beyond day-to-day tasks and manage work across multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to engage effectively at all levels of a customer organization — from plant-floor personnel to senior leadership
  • Ability to partner closely with a Project Technical Lead while maintaining accountability for commercial outcomes
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites for in-person meetings, project reviews, and startup support
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple active customers

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, schedule, risk, quality, and financial performance for each project (risk and financial management are core responsibilities)
  • Drive, monitor, and document all aspects of the project execution process
  • Lead clear, concise, and accurate communication among project team members and customers
  • Protect project profitability through active budget management, forecasting, and change control
  • Identify risks early, address issues with urgency, and navigate difficult conversations to maintain project health
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships while upholding appropriate professional boundaries
  • Understand customer business drivers and align project decisions with both customer and Avanceon objectives
  • Collaborate effectively across all Avanceon departments to ensure successful project delivery
