About the role Leviton is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager with a background in engineering to lead and coordinate New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in managing complex, cross-functional projects within a manufacturing environment. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving the full lifecycle of product development-from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and production launch-ensuring strict adherence to Leviton's phase/gate development process. You will manage multiple medium to high complexity projects, balancing scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong aptitude for solving real-world problems, managing multiple variables, and making data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Effective at motivating and influencing cross-functional teams, including individuals outside of direct reporting lines, to achieve shared goals and maintain accountability.
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve process and procedural challenges, implementing practical and scalable solutions.
- Skilled in developing and delivering executive-level presentations, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to all stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field; PMP certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably in product development.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM), and product lifecycle management (PLM).

- Experience with ERP systems and CAD tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and product validation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Global Sourcing to ensure project alignment and timely execution.
- Apply engineering principles and manufacturing process knowledge to identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Facilitate regular status meetings, setting agendas, documenting meeting minutes and action items, tracking KPIs, and reporting on progress to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Resolve project roadblocks and proactively address issues that may impact timelines, quality, or budget.
- Train and mentor team members on the NPI process, and recommend enhancements to improve product quality, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery.
