Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in data center deployment or infrastructure project implementation, or technical project management in data centers.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects from initiation to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, data center compliance requirements, security protocols, and risk management practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to data center locations, sometimes on short notice.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-performance compute environments and GPU technologies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, CDCP, CDCS, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of multiple simultaneous data center deployment projects, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across all parties involved and hold meetings with your vendors and site to meet timelines.
  • Effectively manage and allocate resources (teams, tools, budget), ensuring that all project phases are adequately staffed and equipped to meet fast-paced timelines.
  • Identify potential project risks, create mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize disruptions to project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed contractual constraints.
  • Ensure that all data center deployments meet technical and quality standards, including compliance with industry best practices and local regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design documents, and give regular progress reports.
  • Provide technical guidance to teams, in collaboration with experts, on best practices for data center design and deployment.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance data center operations.
  • Travel to up to 25% of data center locations to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth project execution.
