The Technical Project Manager - Infrastructure Scrum Master works with business partners to identify and implement multiple technical projects of varying sizes, as defined by Company methodology, such as broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development, building enterprise applications or data warehouse planning and development. Manages projects in varying sizes and complexity. Directs system analysts, software designers and programmers to determine best methods to achieve project objectives. Works with moderate guidance and is responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. Operates within defined parameters using project management methodology. Guides a development team in adopting and implementing the Scrum framework, ensuring they follow Agile principles by organizing Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, promoting collaboration, and actively working to maintain a productive team environment by addressing obstacles and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Coordinates, monitors, and supports the implementation of multiple small to medium systems and/or products.
  • Acts as a liaison between the team and process overhead, so each team member can focus on the timely delivery of software.
  • Removes obstacles and interruptions that may impact delivery of the product.
  • Guides the teams operations by facilitating ceremonies (e.g. daily standup, sprint planning) and instilling Agile principles into daily activities.
  • Facilitates internal and external communications (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, dependency management).
  • Supports the Release Train Engineer.
  • Ensures that the team is well-informed on internal and external initiatives and activities.
  • Keeps external stakeholders, collaborates, and other interested parties well informed on team progress and activities.
  • Tracks and removes impediments that may prevent progress to ensure smooth delivery of the team.
  • Manages the development of a prescribed planning document.
  • Develops deployment plans.
  • Supports collaboration and alignment with resource managers and Agile team members.
  • Maintains issue log; facilitates resolution of issues; executes communication plans.
  • Regularly reports on team performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years project management experience in broad-based information systems, Network, Database, Servers, Data Center Operations, Tech and Software refreshes and/or data warehouse planning and development.
  • 2 years spent working in a lead role on one or more projects.
  • Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working with project management tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with Portfolio Management applications and Rational tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CSM, CSPO or small-sized Agile implementations (e.g. 1-5 teams) strongly preferred.
  • Scrum Master Certification (or willingness to acquire within six months of hire) strongly preferred.
  • SAFe certifications strongly preferred.
  • Strong Infrastructure knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to confidently challenge assumptions and ask insightful questions to drive innovation and improve outcomes preferred.
