About The Position

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that OISC policies, procedures, administrative rules, and supporting automation remain accurate, consistent, and aligned with legislative or procedural changes. You will provide training and technical expertise to PTAs, institution records staff, information staff, other DOC staff and external partners on the application of OISC’s policies and procedures. This includes interpreting and applying public records laws, set-aside laws, sentencing statutes, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and lawful practices. You will also be responsible for responding to complex and hypothetical sentencing inquiries to guide judges, attorneys, and other stakeholders in achieving the court’s intended sentencing outcomes, serving as a subject matter expert to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across the department.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two (2) years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five (5) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex laws, rules, and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to train and present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience developing, interpreting, or implementing policies, procedures, or administrative rules.
  • The ability to provide technical guidance and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years prior experience as a Prison Term Analyst
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS) Certification
  • Experience working with PTAs, OISC staff, or legal teams in a corrections environment.
