About The Position

Carnegie Robotics develops advanced autonomy solutions for industry partners in rail, mining, defense, marine, robotics, and a host of other industries. We specialize in automating off highway vehicles, designing full stack robots for unique tasks, and developing the advanced sensors, ruggedized computers, and software algorithms that power them. We partner with OEMs, military groups, and other technology companies to solve difficult problems for vehicles that operate in challenging environments. We have applications in a wide variety of spaces: floor scrubbing, boating, logistics, industrial inspection, precision positioning, mining, off-road autonomy, and minesweeping.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience as a technical individual contributor.
  • 2+ years experience in a technical project management role.
  • Experience managing contractual agreements such as non-disclosure agreements and statements of work.
  • Understanding of regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Experience in defense-related government contracting.
  • Experience with the full product lifecycle in a recurring sales environment.
  • Exceptional written and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience defining/refining product requirements based on customer needs.
  • Knowledge of the procurement process for technical engineering efforts.
  • Experience with reliability testing and failure analysis.
  • System level requirements development and validation.
  • Risk management experience including risk identification and response strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and manage a multi-disciplinary team to develop reliable robotic and automation systems.
  • Translate technical details to customers and express customer needs to the technical team.
  • Provide technical guidance to move projects from concept phase to production.
  • Oversee the entire program to discover and mitigate obstacles to achieve project goals.
  • Effectively manage 4 to 6 engineers in accomplishing technical, schedule, and budgetary goals.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as purchasing, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Create viable and executable program plans dealing with multiple requirements.
