About The Position

Issuing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and coach an Agile Release Train (ART) in support of delivering highly visible strategic initiatives. Primary RTE responsibilities include facilitation of the ART events and processes and assisting the teams in delivering value for our clients. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Visa will accept applications for this role until at least January 14. Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally
  • Ability to analyze and organize a plan based upon available information
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks, ensure successful task completion, and influence without direct authority in order to achieve necessary goals
  • Strong leadership qualities, organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to effectively manage issues and complex situations
  • Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities with other teams when needed
  • Concentration in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) as well as project management, reporting, and Agile tools including JIRA and JIRA Align

Nice To Haves

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Release Train Engineer 6.0 and SAFe® 6.0 Program Consultant (SPC) preferred
  • 7-9 years of project / program work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as JIRA and JIRA Align.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the Vision Roadmap and Backlogs through Pre and Post-PI Planning meetings.
  • Conduct the PI Planning events.
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency.
  • Assist tracking the execution of Features and Epics.
  • Facilitate and/or contribute to periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART/Solution Syncs and Demos.
  • Assist with decision-making by facilitating Feature and Epic estimation to ensure clear prioritization and realistic planning.
  • Participate in coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Help manage program-level risks, dependencies, and impediments including communication and/or escalation as required for successful delivery of ART Objectives.
  • Encourage collaboration between internal and external teams, stakeholders, and across ARTs.
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
  • Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) on program execution and operational excellence as required.
  • Understand and operate within budgets and schedules.
  • Understand and operate within regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt discussions and workshops. Assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help improve business agility.
  • Foster and contribute to Communities of Practice.
