The position is responsible for managing all aspects of the planning, execution, controlling, and closure of projects and programs. This includes receiving high-level business requirements, developing detailed requirements, and prioritizing efforts while managing inter and intra project dependencies. The role involves refining resource requirements, forming project teams, and defining estimates for financial, physical, or human resources to support long-term projects and programs. Additionally, the position champions the development of best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives across multiple projects and organizations, utilizing established project standards and procedures. The individual will conduct project kickoff meetings, communicate individual roles and project expectations, and ensure that all project team members have the necessary tools and training to perform effectively. The role also includes integrating detailed project plans into a master program plan, providing work direction and leadership to assigned programs, and managing relationships with external vendors. The individual will monitor program milestones, assess variances from project plans, and conduct project reviews and closures to confirm acceptance and satisfaction of the program and related projects. Continuous feedback and coaching to team members, as well as managing projects when necessary, are also key responsibilities.

  • Facilitate evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation for external vendors and independent contractors.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and assess performance against project milestones.
  • Make presentations to solicit program buy-in and report on project status.
  • Monitor program milestones, scopes, costs, and quality to identify potential risks.
  • Assess variances from program and project plans and implement necessary changes.
  • Conduct project review and closure at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the team regarding project performance.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with program stakeholders.
  • Coach or mentor less experienced personnel and conduct performance reviews.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Eight years of IT project management experience and two years of experience managing major projects.
  • Successful completion of a recognized project management training or equivalent project management work experience.
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and business functions.
