About The Position

The Technical Program Manager (R&D) is responsible for overseeing the execution of complex initiatives. These initiatives require coordination of teams using a variety of software delivery practices that will include SAFe. The Technical Program Managers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards. Programs can involve simultaneous coordination across the Executive, Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, R&D, Legal, Compliance, Client Implementations and external vendors. The Technical Program manager needs strong leadership and problem-solving skills to achieve successful outcomes. The position demands effective verbal and written communication. This role will understand the principles and best practices of scaled agile and project management. The person in this role will work to resolve a wide range of issues, both project-related and non-project-related.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or other field demonstrating technical expertise or equivalent work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management, SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe
  • 5 years project management experience with experience in a mix of Software delivery practices.
  • Possess or currently pursuing SAFe SA (SAFe Agilist)
  • Possess or currently pursuing Certification in project management (PMI, PMP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working cross functionally to coordinate development efforts that involve multiple products or integration points between products.
  • Support the development detailed Program delivery Roadmaps with input from Scrum Masters, project management, delivery managers, implementations and migrations teams.
  • Align scope and timeline with Release Train Engineers, Business Owners and Solution Architecture by engaging in Agile Release Train events including PI Planning and Epic Sync.
  • Help monitor overall progress and initiate corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that program goals are met.
  • Execution of project planning activities to include determination of scope, milestones, risks, and issues.Promptly escalate risks to appropriate leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support and maintain reports for the steering committee and other key stakeholders.
  • Implement appropriate practices for the program including right sizing meeting schedules and content.
  • Collaborate with functional managers to determine and satisfy program needs.
  • Support process improvements within the organization delivery processes.
  • Assist with the development delivery plans, and manage requirement changes throughout incremental delivery.
  • Collaborate with Implementations, Migrations, and other business teams to facilitate software adoption by removing obstacles and sharing user feedback. Communicate adoption progress to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships and alignment with key program stakeholders to achieve program goals.
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
