About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Corporate Engineering (CE) Project Management Office (PMO) is a team of Technical Program Managers (TPgMs) who act as strategic partners to Corp Eng teams. We drive the consistent delivery of high-value programs through governance, strategic partnership, and portfolio alignment, specializing in complex, multi-year, cross-organizational programs with Finance Engineering partners. In this role, you will join the Finance Engineering PMO (part of the CE PMO) to manage large, complex, and multi-year Finance programs. This role requires providing centralized, management and governance for programs with significant cross-product area stakeholder collaboration. You will also optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to protect our Finance Systems Platform (FSP). You focus on deep partnerships, knowledge sharing, and T/PgM career development to help Core and Finance Engineering deliver exceptional products. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with third-party Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (e.g., SAP ERP, S4, etc.) implementations.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing corporate finance applications and systems.
  • Ability to communicate succinctly and clearly with cross-functional team leads and executive management regarding project status, resource requirements, issues and priorities.
  • Excellent leadership, people and communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.

Responsibilities

  • Drive centralized planning and execution of large, complex finance engineering programs.
  • Partner with engineering Program Managers (PgMs) and engineering workstream leads, application engineering leads. PgMs and business leads in building comprehensive program strategy, lead program/project management execution and close.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with program stakeholders (technical and non-technical) across teams to enable effective decision making and communications.
  • Define success criteria facilitate with leads, develop-manage-monitor integrated plan, milestones, quality, performance and program deliverables, track progress, and clearly communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Triage technical issues and assess the impact of technical escalations.
