The Technical Program Manager III (TPM) role will support the Clickstream team in the Data and AI organization of Expedia Group. This team manages the website's data capture platform, the underlining data pipelines, and the data products for site interactions. In this role, your expertise and passion for driving complex technical projects, proactively identify & mitigate risks while implementing industry standard processes, will improve the experience of millions of travelers and travel partners each year.

  • Understands and participates in the software development lifecycle and how various Agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing).
  • Understands when to apply Agile methodologies vs. traditional methodologies to achieve the best development outcome.
  • Leads and mentors' others through Agile ceremonies.
  • Proactively manages risk, working with the team to anticipate new risks and leads mitigation planning.
  • Develops project schedule, defines timeframe, and prioritizes tasks to achieve project milestones and deliver intended objectives.
  • Keeps relevant stakeholders informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule.
  • Fosters a team environment where members are comfortable critiquing and suggesting changes to improve processes.
  • 5 + years of hands-on Technical Program Management experience leading large, cross-organizational programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on technical program management with agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong communication ability on technical content.
  • Excellent time management, resource management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to deal with ambiguity, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines within short time constraints.
  • Domain knowledge of or passion for data science, ML engineering, and data engineering preferred.
