About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. As a Technical Program Manager for the Quantum AI team, you will usher multi-disciplinary quantum computing projects through the entire project life-cycle from initial concept to data collection and analysis, including design, fabrication, test and deployment of control electronics. You will leverage a technical background to define project requirements, assess technical feasibility, plan project schedules and anticipate engineering issues. You will serve as the orchestrator of the execution process, driving timelines and managing dependencies across multiple technical teams. You will be proactive in communicating with stakeholders and tracking progress.The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in project/program management.
• 4 years of experience working in systems engineering, hardware development, semiconductor device design and fabrication, or quantum computing.
• Experience in vendor/agreement manufacturing management.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
• Experience working with emerging technology.

Responsibilities

• Support Quantum AI research teams by planning project requirements, managing schedules, leading life-cycle reviews (e.g., concept and design reviews), and serving as a collaboration interface between technical teams and external partners.
• Anticipate issues and propose solutions, manage dependencies and cross-functional interfaces, and identify the need to develop or improve tools or processes.
• Document and communicate work plans, timelines, and results to the broader team.
• Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring they have the insights needed to make effective decisions.
