About the position

The Technical Product Owner at LMI plays a crucial role in a fast-paced agile team environment, focusing on product development and lifecycle management. This position requires flexibility and a strong technical background to navigate ambiguous situations while delivering valuable products efficiently. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and effective backlog management.

Responsibilities

• Define Stories and prioritize the Team Backlog to streamline program execution while maintaining technical integrity.
• Ensure Stories meet user needs and comply with the Definition of Done.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager to align development team priorities with the integrated product roadmap.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders, both internal and external to LMI.
• Identify and coordinate with key end users or their representatives.
• Prepare for and participate in Quarterly product development planning.
• Build, edit, and maintain the team backlog during iteration execution.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineers to reduce technical debt.
• Proactively collaborate and plan with the development team to avoid delays.
• Maintain proper flow of backlog items to user stories and detail stories with acceptance criteria and examples.
• Work with the team to agree on accepted story completion and establish capacity allocation for decision making.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government Secret clearance; active Secret clearance desired.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other engineering degree preferred.
• 3+ years' experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
• 5 years' experience in large IT programs.
• Previous experience as a software or systems engineer is highly preferred.
