About The Position

The Technical Product Owner (TPO) is responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for development team(s). This role bridges the gap between business stakeholders, product strategy, and development by owning the product backlog and ensuring work is scoped, defined, and communicated effectively. This role will closely work with the technology team to drive the direction of the roadmap of our consumer facing technology platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Enablement, Technical Product Owner (TPO) partners closely with development, PMO, and business teams to ensure solutions align with organizational goals, are technically feasible, and are deliverable with high quality.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Product, Business Analysis, Technical Program Management, or a related role
  • Ability to bring clarity and simplicity to complex problems.
  • Experience working closely with development teams in a technical environment.
  • Understand opportunities and limitations of working in a heavily regulated industry.
  • Experience working with development teams and partners in delivering new products and enhancements to existing services.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally at various levels of the organization from the Call Center to the CEO.
  • Ability to collaborate with different functional groups within the organization to understand business processes
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into clear, detailed requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and backlog management skills
  • Experience with requirements documentation and governance
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and systems design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare collections, fintech, or SaaS environments
  • Experience with release management or PMO processes
  • Demonstrated ability to understand system architecture, process design and holistic

Responsibilities

  • Backlog Ownership & Prioritization
  • Own, manage, and assist in the prioritization of the product backlog.
  • Ensure all work items are clearly defined, groomed, and ready for development.
  • Balance competing priorities based on business value, risk, and technical dependencies.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align priorities with strategic goals.
  • Requirements & Technical Translation
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and understood by development teams.
  • Act as the primary point of clarification for engineering during development cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with development, PMO, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
  • Coordinate with release management to ensure smooth delivery and deployment.
  • Communicate status, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
  • Execution & Delivery Support
  • Ensure development work aligns with defined scope and acceptance criteria.
  • Support QA and UAT by validating that delivered functionality meets requirements.
  • Identify and resolve gaps, ambiguities, or blockers during the product development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process improvements in backlog management, requirement clarity, and delivery efficiency.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and users to inform future enhancements.
  • Support data-driven decision-making where applicable.
