About The Position

This role involves owning the construction and maintenance of the core platform, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring platform development supports growth. It requires hands-on technical leadership, including designing, reviewing, and contributing to code, setting high engineering standards, and unblocking engineers. The director will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. The position also involves close partnership with the CTO to prioritize customer impact over technical convenience. The engineering team operates with a TDD-first approach, CI/CD pipelines, strong architectural patterns, documentation, and AI-assisted development workflows, emphasizing autonomy and quick shipping within strong guardrails.
