We are searching for the best talent for Technical Operations Engineer Co-Op to be in San Lorenzo, PR or Manatí, PR. The typical Co-op term is from January to December, 2026, with a full-time requirement of 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • Requires fluency in Spanish and English; must have excellent ability to write in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Power BI, Visio or Minitab knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess issues and opportunities, establish priorities, and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.
  • Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI, Visio or Minitab knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.
  • Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and executes projects and/or programs of low to medium level complexity ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, company standards, operation requirements and business needs.
  • Leads and/or supports the optimization of process output and throughput, equipment utilization, equipment downtime, waste reduction/yield improvements, budget management, standard cost and capital investment management in an innovative manner.
  • Challenges the 'status quo' on a routine basis and develops new ideas within incoming processes.
  • Works on NC Quality actions files from origination to full cycle completion and final approval.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Policies and Federal, State and Local Government Regulations.
  • Develops new ideas within incoming processes.
  • Coordinates communications and interfaces within end users (Ethicon San Lorenzo) and machine manufacturers or suppliers.
  • Writes, develops, and implements validation procedures.
  • Plans and develops own methods.
  • Takes actions in the absence of specific instructions.
  • Develops and presents new or improved methods.
  • Ensures services are of high quality to prevent or reduce production downtimes.
  • Engages in contacts with personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Interfaces with appropriate manufacturing representatives to ensure manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support in alignment with EPS.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complies with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
