Job Description: Job Description: The Competitive Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) position plays a vital role within the greater business, providing competitive analysis, intelligence, and positioning of HPE Networking products with other industry vendors. The Competitive TME will be supporting HPE Networking’s SASE & Security business pillar by becoming the technical subject matter expert on our NAC and firewall solutions. The successful candidate will ensure effective communication of HPE Networking’s competitive differentiation from the competition with relevance to customer use cases, while also capturing valuable product feedback in the process.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Hands-on experience building customer networks with a non-technical degree can substitute.
  • In-depth understanding of NAC, modern next-generation firewalls, and threat detection/prevention technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of secure networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSL, VPN, proxy, NAT, routing/switching.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Ping).

Nice To Haves

  • Well-recognized industry certifications such as CISSP, JNCIS-SEC, JNCIP-SEC, ACCP, PCNSE, CCNP Security or equivalent.
  • Experience with HPE Juniper Networking SRX firewall and associated management solutions.
  • Experience with NAC and firewall solutions from industry vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet
  • Experience with network testing tools such as: Keysight/Ixia, Spirent, Ekahau
  • Understanding of security market trends, customer deployment models and technologies to develop security products.
  • Cross Domain Knowledge, Customer Engagement, Design Thinking, Development Fundamentals, DevOps, Go-to-Market Expertise, Partner Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Security-First Mindset, Strategic Pricing, Strategy Creation, User Experience (UX), Value Creation, Vendor Management

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the competitive technical expert for our next-generation SRX firewall portfolio for branch, campus, DC, service provider and cloud deployments.
  • Serve as the competitive technical expert for the NAC portfolio including HPE Aruba Networking Central NAC and ClearPass.
  • Support competitive efforts for HPE Networking’s SASE portfolio including for EdgeConnect SD-WAN, SD-Branch, Microbranch and SSE solutions.
  • Generate technical collateral which includes testing and comparing HPE Networking with industry vendor solutions, creating competitive analysis reports, third-party testing, sales collateral.
  • Develop and deliver impactful technical content including whitepapers, battlecards, solution briefs, videos, and blogs tailored to security architects, CISOs, and technical buyers.
  • Collaborate extensively with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
  • Provide sellers and partners with deep-dive competitive analysis, presentations, and other technical content during events and webinars.
