About The Position

We are seeking a talented Technical Manual Graphic Artist to join our Graphics Department at our Jacksonville, FL corporate office. In this role, you will support the Triton MQ-4C aircraft and mission systems team, contributing high-quality technical illustrations that directly support mission-critical operations. This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in technical illustration and/or graphic design.
  • A bachelor's degree (BFA) in Graphic Design may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with commercial illustration and photo editing tools, such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, in workflows.
  • Experience producing illustrations for technical publications, such as maintenance manuals, service documentation, installation guides, or similar materials.
  • Strong vector-based technical illustration skills, including line art, exploded views, callouts, and multi-layered assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately within specifications, style guides, and documentation standards, where precision and consistency are essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including consistent labeling, symbology, and independent quality checks.
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.
  • Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working directly with engineers, technical writers, and subject matter experts.
  • Background in revision-intensive documentation environments with frequent updates and iterative review cycles.
  • Familiarity with technical publication standards, including S1000D.
  • Experience in industrial, mechanical, or technical illustration domains.
  • Additional experience in a creative or visual design capacity, such as layout, branding support, or concept development.

Responsibilities

  • Create accurate, detailed technical illustrations using photographic references, engineering data, and source documentation.
  • Apply labels, callouts, leader lines, and interactive hotspots in accordance with S1000D specifications, project standards, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to interpret technical data and ensure graphical accuracy and clarity.
  • Maintain, update, and manage the graphical asset database, ensuring proper version control and configuration management.
  • Organize, archive, and manage project files in compliance with established file structures and naming conventions.
  • Revise and update existing illustrations based on engineering changes, review comments, and updated technical data.
  • Perform self-quality assurance checks to ensure consistency with style guides and contractual requirements.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting production schedules and project milestones.
